Meal Replacement Results in Florham Park, NJ

79 lbs weight loss for him.
72.3 lbs weight loss for her.
Total: 151.3 lb weight loss for both of them.

The Full Meal Replacement program is particularly designed for individuals who wish to lose 30 lbs or more, and for patients with a BMI score of over 27.  The Full Meal Replacement Program also benefits individuals, who have been diagnosed with a weight-related health condition, such as diabetes and hypertension.

Patients usually lose about 3-7 pounds per week. It is one of the quickest ways to safely lose weight, and it also allows patients to improve medical conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, joint pain, and diabetes. The typical OPTIFAST patient (average starting BMI of 39) loses 52 pounds in 22 weeks (weight loss of 50 to 100 or more pounds is also possible).  Results may vary depending on several factors, including weight and gender.

Our Meal Replacement programs include proven nutritionally complete, portion controlled weight loss formulas such as shakes, soups and bars from OPTIFAST® and other brands.  This replaces the regular foods, which patients would normally consume, and help them control calories and portion size in their meals.

Patients are instructed to eat 5-7 times a day, depending on their calorie needs. Typical caloric level is between 800-1120 calories per day.

The active weight loss phase usually lasts 12-14 weeks, followed by a gradual transition over 1 to 2 months to a maintenance oriented program.  During this transitional phase, participants gradually add conventional low-calorie foods back into their diet in place of meal replacement products.  People will continue to lose weight during this phase.

Patients will return to our center weekly and meet with Dr. Li every other week in order to track progress and address any issues.

Meal Replacement in Florham Park, NJThe Partial Meal Replacement Program:

The program is designed for individuals, who need to lose 20 to 40 pounds.  Patients can expect to lose 2 to 4 pounds per week depending on starting weight, gender, how assertively the patient is able to cut calories and increase activity level.

Patients are required to replace 1-2 meals daily with the provided meal replacement foods.  Patients on this diet will also consume up to 2 snacks per day which include the OPTIFAST® brand or other company brand meal replacement products (shakes, soups, bars, etc.).  Patients will be responsible for planning one healthy portion-controlled meal a day.  Calorie intake levels will range between 1150-1500 calories per day.

This program is easy to follow and accommodates your busy schedule.  It allows you to enjoy some of your favorite foods while still achieving weight loss.  This program will be especially helpful for those who conduct frequent business travels, for those who regularly dine out or for those who find themselves busy either driving or in a meeting during meal times.  Our meal replacement formula is convenient for all!  It is a great alternative to other quick, unhealthy food choices we face on a day to day basis.

Patients will return to our center every two weeks and meet with Dr. Li at least once a month.

Calorie Controlled Meal Plan

We have other options for patients who prefer not to use a meal replacement program.  A diet plan will be determined based on a patient’s assessment of their medical history, lifestyle, metabolism, and diet history.

All patients receive a medical evaluation with Dr. Li.  Patients will learn about portion control and alternative food options that are low in calories.  Daily calorie intake will be established according to the patient’s weekly activity rate, weight and height.  A calorie controlled meal plan is an alternative way to achieve weight loss success.

A calorie controlled meal plan usually produces an energy deficit of 500–1,000 calories per day, which on average can result in a 0.5 kilogram (1.1 lb) to 1 kilogram (2.2 lb) of weight loss per week.  The foods consumed in this meal plan will be high in nutritional value.
